PROJECT > Logo design for a home sports area.

What do you when you've got some extra square footage in your house? You build a small sports arena. For a private client, a most pleasurable hand-painted job that allowed for frequent breaks for some fine fresh Atlantic air.

I based the logo design off of two things that were supplied to me: a photograph of the landmark Eagle Head Rock, and a painting of it by Winslow Homer. So it turned out to be pretty straightforward from there on. The trick was hand-painting it, which I hadn't done since I was in school when I use to paint signs around New York. (In fact, if you look closely at one of the 'Chelsea Moving & Storage' trucks, you may notice the logo on the side of the truck is a bit tilted. I swear I didn't do that so I would more easily recognize the one I had painted!)
